Can not answer for JP, but it seems his info. or sources are pretty good if he knew about the surface tree issue. I do know that his info. has up to this point always been more then accurate and helpful.
Perhaps he got this from his source but does not want to mention so directly or maybe he is using his knowledge of the timeline from previous wells and maneuvering of the supply boats to guess what the current situation is.
I will not be betting against him.
