Broady55, the only way Chris Bowen will become Opposition Leader during the current term is if Bill Shorten stands aside.

I can't see that happening! After having been sacked by voters due to the self-serving internal power struggles during the Rudd-Gillard era, the ALP lacks the political capital to be seen changing leaders midstream. They will be severely punished again in NSW for not sorting out their internal mess.

That said, many signs indicate that Australians WILL emphatically relieve themselves of Tony Abbott and his rotten, deceitful government.

If Toxic Tony fronts voters the LNP will be massacred!

Of course, many thinking MPs already know that. So the real question is who will replace Toxic Tony before the 2016 Election. Malcolm Turnbull is the people's choice due to his vision for our future and his macro-economic expertise. He would easily beat Bill Shorten. But Julie Bishop is the right's sweetheart and much more likely to take the knife to both Abbott and his dictatorial COS, Peta Credlin.

If Labor loses the next election, Shorten will be consigned to history and Chris Bowen will become ALP leader.
