Bowen is one of the few MPs not in a safe seat who the ALP will need to form a front bench in Opposition.
That means a lot of time and a lot of resources will be applied to try and ensure he gets over the line.
If they are going to try to 'save some of the furniture' this will very close to the top of the list.
