I have a ute. a VW long tray back with tool draw and dip sides. I've carried over a ton or rocks, firewood, soil, building materials, antique furniture etc. its was a bricks ute before I bought it 12 years ago. it goes anywhere . the bench seat is useful for carrying extra delicate stuff inside but yeh the springs are heavy duty and the tyres are pumped up for the extra load. it doesn't go very fast but the old 5 cylinder diesel does a great job. ave 7.8L/100.
good for you in comfort mate but its not a real ute.
