Just one important point from Totterdell's discussion:

"basically I disagree with Red's technique. He is looking for the origin and first pivot to fit the current trend"

It's best not to presume the thought processes of someone without checking with them first what processes they went through.

If you look at my second graph with two APFs on them, it's easy to see that that's not what I did. I was looking for a significant pivot. Point 2 met that criteria.

Close to the median old and dominant median line and close to the very important 40 TMA.
