Boxing Officianado Thread

In light of the great ALI's passing, I thought it would be interesting to start a new thread regarding the glory days of pugilism.

As a dedicated fan of the Marquis Of Queensbury, in particular the golden era of the sport from the 1960's to 1980's, I welcome any banter from like minded or interested fans of the pure form.

I'll make a start with the obvious in Ali, the best of my generation that i saw in my opinion, purely for his boxing brain and his master ship of ring craft. I am not interested in discussing his political beliefs, that's for another thread.

Other champs up for discussion from all weight divisions during that era are many, a few that come to mind would have to include Marvin Hagler, Tommy Hearns, Ray Leonard, Roberto Duran and of course Iron Mike Tyson, who some would say is arguably the only worthy challenger to walk along side Ali in the heavyweight division of the modern era.
