    Why? They are where they are because they a actually NOT "like the rest of us". Are you a socialist or a huge proponent of socialism?

    They are part of a billion dollar industry. The NRL, for example, made $530 million last year. The state of origin could be worth up to $100 million a year and is the jewel in the crown for channel 9.

    Tell me why in an industry with $530 million revenue per year should players "go back to being amateurs or go to work?" when they raise $530 million revenue. ARe you trying to say that the players (the product) should just get screwed and be treated differently to every other professional sport in the world? Should everyone make money from the entertainment the game provides except for the players???

    If footballers were "like the rest of us", you may as well advocate for watching marbles all weekend. How much revenue would that generate?
