re: 4 gyro boycott indonesia the twist is that the fight for independence by East Timor was only sustained by moral support from other countries, Australia being most prominent. Because of the deaths of the journalists, the Australian media became anti-Indonesia and created by default a pro-East Timor movement. I believed at the time, and still do that the best outcome was for East Timor to be incorporated into Indonesia. I also believe that if East Timor had REAL friends they would have encouraged the resistance leaders to accept the Indonesian annexation. if they had done so not only would there not have been the bloodshed, on both sides, but the citizens would have been enjoying a better standard of living with better prospects today. Unfortunately the media didn't let that happen.
