The wording is 30% in its field, not 30% in its stake.
You will be disappointed if you think it is for 12%, not sure of any fields of this size where BP has a 12% interest particulariy when they are buying in. Malcy mentioned operatorship also, do you thing BP will become operator with 12%?
People are also putting too much emphasis on the $600m, this appears to have been plucked out of thin air by a reporter. The actual figure could be anywhere from $400m up to $1b+.
Time will tell.
