Okay here's my 2 cents and then we are done talking to these guys...
Even if it is a 50/50 occurrence (it's obviously not one but anyhow), you would take this bet every day of the week.
Normal 50/50 betting game, you bet 1 to win 2. Simple odds and statistics. Where it's 25% chance, you bet 1 to win 4 etc.
Here you're "betting" 1 to win 5+? In a "50/50" occurrence? You would take that every day of the week if you're smart? Statistically, you are destined for fortunes...
Not sure what kind of maths you're using here but I know for a fact we are destined for fortunes...
Edit** It's not guaranteed the sun comes up, it will die one day along with us, and you (most importantly)
