If you have qty stack the sell, whilst having bids just under ask price on the buy.

The aim is to scoop shares other than your own.
The Accumulation.

When done, you reduce you're sells and stack the bid, that then gets others to buy over your position.

Ie. Cap on downside or upside.

I mentioned this on Friday, hoodlum gets it.

To control the action, one needs around 20m shares because technically you are not selling if a buyer also.

Ie. Multiple orders at various levels on sell or multiple orders on buy. Depending on aim, determins which side.

I do not agree with the practice, but it is how large investors gather qty.

So market depth can catch out the newer investor, or one not seasoned in the practice.
