Honestly, maybe you should have started there, if you were serious.

E.g. Dear Mr Lawyer,
is it possible to get compensation for...
Would you take the case on a percentage basis.

There might be 100's of other interested parties,
that could be effected. What if I posted your name on a forum, how many would you need to be interested.

The lawyer would probably want to know how come the company itself isn't doing this, which you should all think about.

Then also need a monetary value of out of pocket losses, good luck providing that.
