Of course in reality they are tied but as with anything ( and we could have ourselves a great giggle discuusing Electricity) .. the wise insrigate infrastrucure/supply before committing to usage...otherwise bound to blow up in your face.

Recent events show thw world has more capacity to use energy than it has ability to secure it.

The 'inconveniences" experienced in the UK as weĺl as that nation of Sino-Nasties highlight how quickly a good day can go bad.

As we are primarily concerned with gas here ( talking BPH/BUY) then how is Australia situated to provide for all of OUR own intended needs ? Well...right here today not as good as ww might be.

If no new fields aredeveloped and brought on line we'll be just as stuffed as everyone else.

Yes...exploration has ben committed to but it doesnt all tally up with the needs.
Needs being : Domestic use, Export commitments, Industrial use and last but not least that 'Shining Armour" of Power Generating.

Export is not so location sensitive. find it and shove it in big boats. Done.

All the others rely on grids and they do exist but the rule of thumb is its still preferable to locate major use within the relative proximity of a source.

So we continually, time and time again return to that awkward requirement of northern NSW .

Hmmm...if only something was ...you know... nearby
