I don't think there was any option Tsol. ed was told what to do and more importantly why he had to do it.
JD's redacted document confirms, in my mind anyway that the ALP's sole aim was to get to the election. I would bet that all of the redacted documentation is because the case put forward was how to delay the project rather than how to legally kill it.
Gee even Scomo's documents were not that badly redacted and to me those blank pages speak volumes of where we are currently at and what happens next.
And great pick up @SilverSquirrel that puts the public opinion argument to bed, not that it was ever a real legal argument anyway but good to know legally how things are seen.
I never count chickens especially with this stock but it does seem more and more likely that JD's view of the Government backing down is the most likely scenario.
