    Tsol,

I am in vic and Dan the man is turned away from pubs and clubs still.

Yep no new gas connections, but 2m homes still use gas. I don't think it was just about gas when he was at the helm because he forced smart meters when no laws existed via a hounding practice.

Im on an old analogue meter, from memory I turned the power companies away a good 20 or 30 times, preventing the smart meter at my home.

In colder climates like Vic and tas, electric heating is very inefficient compared to gas heating.

The smarts would be to close all coal power stations and replace with gas, the c02 reduction there would be great alone.

I think ultimately it is about control. These electricity smart meters monitor you, the move to the nbn was to monitor as all wholesale internet data travels though gov filters.

Back to gas, even if we do not use it for power generation, industry needs it to make explosives, fertilisers, plastics, etc. And for furnaces to create rolled steel, melting aluminium, glass, etc.

Industry and agri use more gas than power generation needs.
