Absolutely spot on — it's been happening for decades. Australia’s resource wealth is world-class, but instead of using it to build long-term national benefit — like sovereign wealth funds, downstream industries, or even affordable energy — we’ve mostly handed it over for short-term royalties and tax revenues, while multinational giants rake in the real profits.

Meanwhile, other countries are locking in supply chains, strategic reserves, and local jobs — and laughing all the way to the bank. And you're right: we keep smiling and voting in the same political classes that enable it, often under the illusion that it’s “good for the economy.”It’s not anti-development to want a fairer deal — it’s common sense.

The generations who fought, built, and sacrificed for this country — they did it for a future that respected sovereignty, fairness, and national integrity. Not to see it all handed over piece by piece to foreign interests, corporate lobbyists, and politicians chasing a quick win or post-career board seat.

Those old-school values — mateship, hard work, pride in building something for the country, not just a bottom line — they’ve been sidelined by a leadership culture more interested in spin than substance. The diggers stood for something. And what’s happening now? It's the opposite: we’re selling the farm and calling it progress.Time people started waking up to it — and pushing back.
