Mediation does not have an end date. U can talk all the way to 17th.... U could ask for a discontinuance during the hearing if u wnated. U are under no obligations to have the Justice rule if both parties decide to 'stop'...
BUT all of this needs to happen well before the 16th.... mediation/negotiations/discussions and anything else that involves TALKING can happen whenever u like.
