LET ME TRY AND MAKE SENSE OF TODAY’s EVENTS…..I believe that the reason the lodgement of the government’s affidavit did not take place as scheduled is that the Labor politicians involved are not sure whether they want to continue with this case or concede. The legals would have had some sort of response, however, Albo, as usual, would be in two minds. Also, Tim Ayres is not the brightest coin in the collection and would not know what is the correct course of action. Throw in Mr Ed being totally pssd at Albo and the Labor mob….and what he might do in a courtroom and you have a lot of uncertainty. Look how long they took to agree that Donald’s B2 bomb drop was a good idea. They have been trying to please so many for so long they don’t know what the F they’re doing!
FURTHER…DB despite my warning about giving the government an extension, was basically forced to accede to their request by what I will call “professional courtesy “. Justice Jackson would have approved such a modest request, even if we objected.
Finally, that leaves two likely outcomes…,the Government will concede defeat by next Wednesday or will decide to submit an affidavit and prolong the agony.
The delay only strengthens my belief the Government considers they have a weak case. Not long to find out.
