I don't think they actually care about the well being of Australians here. They've known about the East Coast Gas shortage for years now and have actively continued to block PEP 11, a simple and effective solution to the crisis. For them, it's more of a PR crisis and their solution, if they had their way, would be to just use tax dollars to buy the Gas from other States or overseas. Heck, importing Gas using Port Kembla may have been the plan from the get go. Follow the money trail and we'll find the truth, if any daring journalist cared enough to investigate.
Someone should ask Twiggy on his opinion on PEP 11, it should be quite telling.
