Thanks Churr, relaxing in front of the fire with a beer and good book.. It's bloody freezing out here in the bush... Will check it out tomorrow.. And now something that has nothing to do with BPH but is relevant to the times we are in because it relates to the virus, which is screwing everyone's lives up at the moment. I know it is off topic but I'd like people to know about this. I hope no one has this moderated for off topic because it's important.
Do you remember an Aust company called Biota (BTA) that invented the first drug (as distinct from vaccine) to treat the flu? It was called Relenza and is still used medically, along with Tamiflu, which was copied from it. BTA moved to the USA years ago and it's fortunes suffered. Finally maybe 5 years ago it merged with a company called Vaxart Inc (Nasdaq VXRT) I still had a few residual shares in BTA which eventually became VXRT shares, only a token amount after multiple dilutions but this is how I know these things. They have been working on an oral vaccine for the flu, but began working on the same for COVID19 when the crisis hit. They are testing it on monkeys infected with the virus at the moment. The US Govt has been throwing billions to various drug companies to help them develop a vaccine against COVID19. It is called the warp speed program. VXRT is one of those companies, and even though they are still testing, they have signed an agreement with a drug manufacturer to produce 1 billion doses of their vaccine once it is safely proven to work. The share price has risen from around USD 0.36 to an intra-day high on Friday of around USD 14 in the last 12 months or so. If their drug works it will become the drug of choice to combat the virus because it is oral and thus it is very cost effect, easy to manufacture and easy to transport and store. In short it is disruptive technology. My reason for posting this is twofold, firstly to alert all you guys that with regards to the virus, there is may be some light at the end of the tunnel so hunker down and stay safe till the medical cavalry arrive.. and secondly to show that if you get it right, amazing fortunes can actually be made on the markets for peanuts outlay. I did think about topping up on VXRT when they were 0.36 but then didn't follow through.. Something I am going to regret it would seem.
