There are a lot of well paid people in offices working hard to make sure very much needed resources are not made available quickly or economically !

The only government instrumentality that no one in government takes any notice of is the productivity commission .
Note it is not called an authority , it has no teeth !
Most of the things it advocates are unpalatable to the bureaucratic empires that have been built and are not vote winners in the election roundabout .
