BPT held a decent stake in COE (c. 10% from memory). Sold shortly after Matt K took over as CEO. The BPT downgrade, as I understand, is oil, not gas. Also, COE has a lot of ex BPT assets. In short, can’t see BPT wanting to take over CEO, especially with the offshore abandonment obligations.
