You stated that Simpson was unknown to the major shareholders at the time. He was not. I recall the FK company which was a major shareholder at the time was Bentley Capital not Westchester.
Googling that company shows a board of FK, William Johnson, Simon Cato, PS and Christopher Ryan. Johnson, Simpson and Ryan all found their way onto the DLS board as did their associate Dixon.
Anyway, my point was that Simpson was well known to two major shareholders at the time not unknown as you suggested.
