but back onto pure hodgey........ a genius batsman and like many, never paid his dues....... it was a squeeze there for a time to get into the Oz line up...... but Hodge was an obvious 3 if you look past ponting who for mine was always a 4 or 5 as very dodgey early on to fast bowling...... the ashes is a pure unmitigated debacle but look at the PR teams get rolling now....... ponting is sorry and wants to go again....... sutherland is backing ponting ????? ponting is a disater as a skipper and should have always been just the gun bat...... he is definitely a gun bat but he is not a leader of men....... he may have raw cnt in him because he's a scrapper and a fan of the dishlickers..... but pure cnt and considerable batting talent is not enough to make key tactical decisions out there....... bring back Gilly for skipper or make it haddin or even hodgey....... but please not mr bingle..........

we were beaten by the weakest pommy side in maybe a century and lost all but one key contest easily...... (oh and peterson & flintoff had only two legs and two arms between them)........ SAD
Bring Back Hodgey or make this new SA batting kid the new skipper. Usher in a new non-NSW driven era sure........
