Mate, if you lived in Sydney you would understand. Our traffic problems are abysmal.

As TV ratings here show Rugby League is the most watched sport in the state by a country mile. In Sydney AFL ranks so poorly that Channel Ten has threatened to pull the broadcast. Even SBS out rates it on a Saturday night. I am not joking, google it.

To be fair to Melbourne, crowds have always been bigger down there, but as the Swans will attest, one bad season and they will drop off in droves here. That is Sydney, right or wrong.

Look at last year's semi, when the crowd was given as 19,000. What they didn't mention was that 11,000 were free tickets to the match. Lowest in some 80 odd years. Welcome to Sydney.

It isn't the players but the rules that make people here shake their head. It looks soft in comparison to league hence the tag. Too many namby pamby rules eg he touched his shoulder. Geez. Or his hand touched his back. Oh no did it! Send him off ref that must have hurt.

    Cheers, Mick.
