Why do you believe Intel is intending to 'release Loihi from research'?
Loihi 2 was literally designed to be a research chip.
I suspect Intel has it's finger on the market pulse. If there was significant revenue to be made, I also expect they would have released a commercial offering. Is there even a significant commercial use case? If there was, why wouldn't Intel exploit that?
There previously wasn't a cost for approved research institutions to access Loihi 2's abilities - has that changed?
