I do tend to agree for this product. This is a component that will only ever be packaged for engineers - Joe Public will never see akida in a box, every chip I've every bought in production comes in a plastic tube for ease of assembly. Production doesn't want any waste to dispose of, and certainly nothing that takes time to open up.
However engineers are probably more like cycle mechanics and enthusiasts and when we receive a new 12 speed Eagle cassette from Sram, it comes in a beautiful simple red box. So maybe on a test bench, or if it's in a test circuit board it might get put back in a box, as it'd probably be the only sample chip you have initially, so Therefore it might get stored between use in different prototypes motherboards perhaps? you certainly don't want to shove your new toy into a drawer unpackaged. So it's really just depends on who is the market we are targeting for the packaging.
