Google released Pixel 7 last year. It's a mid product refresh - basically a faster version of the Pixel 6, but nothing that is a dramatic departure, following the standard 2 year model/half model cycle for a smartphone.

Apple iPhone 13 and 14 (I'm not an Apple guy, so open to correction here) seem like pretty much the same product, the 14 being a refresh of the 13. Under the old naming system the 14 would have probably been called a 13S.

Following the 2 year life cycle for a phone model, with an interim update released in the second year - you'd be either aiming for the Pixel 8 or the iPhone 15 to be having Akida onboard - or there would be another 2 year wait, which places us at 2025.

Apple is not normally at the cutting edge in terms of hardware - so 2025 could be the window for Akida for Apple.

Smartphones seem like the natural location for Akida to roll out en masse. Lots of devices, wearables etc connect via bluetooth to a smartphone back to device apps in the phone. Third part apps can connect to that data as well (for example, Strava takes data from fitness wearables from multiple manufacturers)

Data sent back to the phone via Bluetooth (say for a fitness tracker) could be processed by an Akida processor on board the smartphone.
App programmers have to have Akida implemented on phones in order to write an app that can take advantage of it.
