The backhoe operator Júlio César de Oliveira Cordeiro, 34 years old, died buried in the afternoon of last Friday (18) after the collapse of part of the slope of a slope near the pit of the Córrego do Feijão mine, in Brumadinho (MG) ), the same one where the socio-environmental crime of mining company Valeoccurredin January 2019, which left more than 270 dead .
The slope is an inclined terrain plan built to guarantee the stability of the landfill containing the mining waste.
Cordeiro was married, father of a three-month-old child, and worked as a contractor at Vale, linked to the contractor Vale Verde.At the time of death, he was cleaning the B1 dam of the Córrego do Feijão mine.
Cordeiro's family lived in the municipality of Santa Luzia (MG).The worker had been housed for 15 days in the Funil neighborhood, in Mário Campos (MG), which borders Brumadinho. The information was confirmed by Sammanta Bleme, who is part of the committee of residents of the Funil neighborhood.
