I basically agree with you in that you should never buy on a subscribed stock pickers recommendation until you have conducted your own research so that:-
A) You have a clear understanding of the companies operations and
B) You enter the company at a decent or safe entry share price.
I don't think that anyone will be complaining about TRY's share price in 1 years time though so D&D has picked another winner IMHO.
Same goes with CCC.
