a 680 gram of bread has about 400 grams of flour - the other stuff that they sometimes put in it (eg linseed) is almost free. the other day watso bought 2kg of flour for $3.
watso has not bought pasta for donkey years, but thought that he needed something to mix with his world famous curries - so he bought a 500gm pack of bowties pasta from coles for $1. the pasta is 100% wheat. coles also had a line of bowtie pasta for 65c (for 500gram) - but watso liked the packaging of the $1 packet.
why buy bread, which then needs something to put on it (and extra cost) - when on can buy pasta, and knock up a good feed to go with it
