The Seychelles is as fontier as you can get, - high risk high reward.

However the business of drilling for oil, seismic surveying and geological analysis has benefitted hugely in the last 30 years from a wealth of experience and technological advancement especially which has moved in leaps and bounds.

Obviously there is still no guarantee of success but the odds are a hell of a lot better now.

In the 80's when oil cost peanuts there just wasn't the need to try any harder than they did, - chuck in a couple wildcat wells and plug and abandon if they didn't get lucky.

Times have changed as has the worlds' energy requirements AND the price per barrel....


Why do you ask?

The ONE common denominator with every oil and gas field in the world is they were all originally un-proven.
