Yes, a breather, a consolidation during a move (up or down) is inevitable and welcome (if after an upwards move). If a genuine consolidation, it should, resume its upwards momentum (it's said, 70% chance of resuming the prior direction, after a consolidation).
As I say, I used to follow volume, but don't any more, but included it, since I know many do.
Personally, I adhere to what is called Price Action.
"I'm still bullish but will change my mind if the price continues to drop over the next couple of days." Makes perfect sense...I called it as I saw it. I'm not 100% sure it's a consolidation.
Just have to let the market show its hand.
