Yeah troff the Ardrossan Dolomite Quarry is situated 2.5km South West of Ardrossan and the open pit is enormous simply enormous .It is worthwhile having a look at the massive pit that the quarry has created. I am sure you could fit the Township or Ardrossan into it. Just 2.5km from the town and just had a PEPR approved for extensions I suppose to look for more Dolomite. I am sure that it has taken up grazing land as well . Now the Hillside project is situated 12km South of Ardrossan and we are having so much trouble getting the PEPR approval . I was wondering how the Ardrossan quarry was going to be rehabilitated eventually . I also noticed that the cliffs along the coast line near Ardrossan look as though they are being eroded by heavy seas and that could be a bit of a worry for the township in years to come . Maybe that has been noticed and being attended to .
