The tenements have been through several hands during periods when phospates were less valuable. We don't know anything about SPL's circumstances but it wouldn't be the first time in the history of mining that a small player with fortuitous timing ended up with an asset that made them serious money with little effort.
All speculative at this stage but the one thing that gives me optimism is the thing that has frustrated me over the last 18 months ie the frustrating conservatism of the current board. It's driven me nuts but at the same time leads me to think they have done their homework.
