So Mr Scientist, please tell us all what would have happened to that heat hitting the ground (or roof or whatever) if those solar panels weren't there.
I personally haven't looked into it but at face value the general hypothesis seems plain silly. Any heat not reflected would presumably be otherwise absorbed by the ground. You may as well argue against galvanised iron rooftops.
I can see how it could create a heat island but significantly more than concrete or sand in the desert? Maybe, but if so it's just reflecting it into the air instead of absorbing into the ground (it's not "creating" heat).
Sounds like a bit of a flimsy argument, well covered by the "possible" in your post, I see we're now at the stage of finding any old doubt.
