If it suits McConnell, he will be.
Splitting the right wing ticket would be a disaster for the GOP at the mid terms.
Raising money will be difficult if Trump is still a factor.
So plenty of motivation for McConnell to bury him, and bury him deep.
I think you will find that the GOP will be less than supportive when Trump starts to face up to his various state based legal problems.
If he gets collared by them , McConnell wins.
