The career of star West Coast Eagles midfielder Ben Cousins hangs in the balance following his arrest on drugs charges yesterday.
The AFL is expected to discuss the future of the former captain's playing career with the club this morning.
Earlier this year the AFL warned West Coast that it would face a club reprimand if bad player behaviour continued.
Cousins has been charged with a drug offence and failing to participate in drug testing, including providing a blood sample, after he was pulled over by police in Northbridge.
Former AFL coach and ABC football commentator Ken Judge says the Brownlow medallist could be sacked.
"Quite probably his career is over at West Coast Eagles," he said.
"It would be very sad if that's the way it happens and I don't think the club will have any choice but to terminate his contract."
Mr Judge says the club's image has been tarnished further.
"You can't continue to brush things under the carpet," he said.
"At some stage or the other you've got to accept that there are some issues and problems that perhaps haven't been addressed correctly in the past."
Cousins' team-mate Daniel Chick was also questioned by police.
The West Coast Eagles have yet to comment.
