My sentiments may be harsh on this subject.

However, the AFL have proven to be ineffective.

IMO an amnesty should be called for all Drug Takers to come clean across the AFL.

After that, one strike and your out.

    No compromise.

    No second chances.

They have wrapped these kids up in cotton wool and tried to dismiss the real heart of the problem.

Why shouldn't the players be tested at any given time throughout thier career including off season?

When you think about it, they are full time professionals who are renumerated as such.

Both the club and the AFL should be held accountable to what happened with Cousins and of the other players that we don't know about.

We have seen it in the past with great players who have fallen foul to drugs or alchohol binges. This type of conduct needs not only to be addressed, but real action needs to be taken.

Some people might have great brilliance on the field.
However, of the field is just as important.

Just have a look at what happened to Gary Ablett Snr.
Again, no real responsibility by the club nor the AFL at the time.

Crikey, how many more brilliant players do we have to see fall by the wayside before the AFL wakes up out of its slumber?

Heads need to roll from the top in both the WCE and AFL for allowing this Cousins debacle to happen.

It was that obvious that a time-bomb was about to explode.

    And it did.

    Cheers markco2
