Thank you for your mail to Mr. Mao Zefeng regarding inquiry about PetroChina’s recent acquisition of the 20% interest of the Poseidon Project in Browse Basin of west Australia.
The Poseidon project has a proven 2P natural gas reserve of 7Tcf and condensate oil 10 million tons. In the project area, there are several more drilling traps with good potential. It is expected that a 4 million ton annual LNG production capacity will be established in the future, based on the current reserve level. This acquisition is beneficial to PetroChina for learning and accumulating offshore LNG production and management experience, especially the advanced floating LNG technology (FLNG & FSRU technology).
As to the price of the acquisition, unfortunately, I do not have the specific numbers for you.
