breaking news - Siemens does deal with molycorp, page-6

I'm really not sure what the big deal is; not good news of course but hardly dire or surprising.
Siemens are diversifying supply as they always do: "We strive for diversification in the sourcing of these components to improve independency from specific markets".
There's no suggestion that it's an exclusive supply agreement, quite the opposite in fact.
Nice to see the Dy thrifting is continuing apace: no timeline but the Dy content is headed for 0%. To quote:
" In collaboration with Siemens Wind Power, Molycorp and Shin-Etsu will improve the magnet material to reach zero HREEs, Siemens said. At the same time, Siemens added, supply chain reliability will be increased and costs will be reduced. ".
In other words as the Dy is ditched the magnets are cheaper and the materials more reliably sourced.

Finally Dotchy, my answer to your 2 questions are :
    1. Dunno
    2 Sadly, no.
Lynas's communications have always been and remain pathetic; good news or bad.
