The blue whale's tongue weights around 2.7 tonnes, whereas an elephant can weigh anywhere from 2.5 to 5 tonnes, depending on the species and age. It is therefore more conceivable that an elephant weighs slightly more that a whales tongue, although it is not unheard of for a large specimen's tongue to out-weight an elephant.
