Other gold companies that have been in a similar position such as RDR where they have inherited old workings include :

SAR which has a market cap of $276 mil (was much higher but had production problems) and is now on target for 120k ounces p.a. and has a similar size resource and grades to RDR. SAR's costs will be higher (underground) as RDR's first 100k ounces p.a. will be opencut.

NST which inherited old workings from Intrepid. They now have a market cap of $529 mil and produce currently 80k ounces p.a. and hope to increase to 200k sometime down the track.
