To appreciate the benefits of a buyback you have to sell your shares. Dividend is a simple cash payment. Shagang would prefer higher dividend and so would I. If dividend goes up price will go up anyway.
Agreed. Much rather a bigger dividend. Buybacks reward the non-believers, not the believers. Think a stock consolidation may be good to improve liquidity and attract more institutional investors.
