When you need to get craned out of your house to go anywhere, I think you may have BIGGER problems than whether you catch the common cold or the flu.
People who eat themselves to death are choosing that path for themselves. People who die due to a comorbidity and happen to test positive for the flu shouldn't be counted as a "flu death". It is just one of many potential straws that could have broken the back of said camel.
