After reading the article it seems quite likely to me that this might be a related part of the works boeing are to undertake. If it is I doubt it would be the sole purpose but more part of a major upgrade program. Purely speculation but the timing is right. That would be a good solid first contract for SMN, a good validation of the tech being able to be utilised on a commercial scale.
