Yes from memory the pit design left us with walls which were too steep. Last time I checked they still hoped to recover the remaining ore using some kind of remote control arrangement once machines for the underground are on site. Of course it’s far too dangerous to put humans in harms way where the rocks tend to fall. I have not heard if they have dropped this idea or not.

it has always been a difficult pit, but the entrance for the underground has been carefully selected to avoid the shortcomings. We have always been told that Hillgrove has a good safety record, and I see no reason why this won’t continue. As I am sure you are aware, mining is by nature a dangerous game.
