it was always blasted, very hard rock, and it wasn’t unusual to load out individual rocks weighing up to 80t.
drill and blast team was useless there tho.
tge natural grain of the rock is the problem with that pit, and the way they decided to pull batters was questionable.
I think the underground side of things should be pretty solid tho, more integrity and less surface area open to slipping.
