In the USA, there are 78,000 people currently living with multiple myeloma, with 22,000 new cases and around 11,000 deaths each year.
For simplicity assume total USA population is 300,000,000 and there are 20,000 new cases every year
Which would mean 1 in 15,000 contract the disease every year.
Assume there are 1.5 billion (out of 7 billion) people who could afford the medication
Therefore 1,000,000 treatments would be required per year.
Assume the treatment would cost between $500-$1000.
