Think the patents once licensed are valid for 16 or 18 years. By having the patent RER can licence the process to owners of lignite and other currently subeconomic energy resources.

"Ignite energy resources" seem to be doing something similar to RER in converting coal into higher value products, except they are using autoclaves rather than having the process working insitu (at the coal face) like RER (magma oil) propose

IMHO For this to work on a production basis they will need to be drilling from the surface at 45degrees to the horizon then directional drilling fom there, with drilling to the limit of the drill hole. Then the supercritical water (SCW) is sent down with catalysts to disolve the coal and the annulus of the drill is slowly removed from the drill hole with the reaction occuring in the space as it is removed
However initially they are just trying to see if the process works so are going down exsiting holes perpendicular to the surface. How effective the coal can be disolved by the SCW (whats the correct nozzle spray pattern the water pressure and temperature needed and distance from coal to nozzle) is the first question the second question is what is the result of that disolving (oil or gas and water and char ) and the third is how easy is it to extract the products that are disolved.
IMHO Its probable methane will be extracted but questionable if oil can be extracted, for that to occur would need the coal molecule to change its compositin to include extra Hyrogen irons to form a different organic compound, the only way for that to happen is for hydrogen irons to break off from the supercritical water (H2O) and break down the coals carbon bonds and the hydrogen then to bond with coal molecules to from oil can occur in a test tube but dont know if will happen in a less controlled environment 50 metres below surface if that works then thats the holy grail.
There are also impurities in coal like iron pirates that may be effective catalysts in breaking down the coal
Hopefullly those questions will start to get answered in February.
As a foot note I dont like the way Edgar is cheaply adding to his holdings at the expense of other holders.
